Composer Takeshi
Saito
Takeshi Saito’s works currently appear on major networks in the
United States, Canada, and Japan, to include the Discovery Channel, PAX
TV, TLC.and so on. He is the owner of Music Intrigue, which he launched
in dedication to music production for the TV/film/game industry in 2000.
Born and raised in Japan, after graduating from Tokyo’s Waseda University
in 1989, Takeshi Saito relocated to Boston to train in composition at
Berklee College of Music, graduating in 1993, Magna Cum Laude. At Berklee
he was most influenced by his teachers Herb Pomeroy and Greg Hopkins.
In 1994 he was awarded a teaching assistantship at University of Massachusetts,
where he went on to earn his master's degree in jazz composition and arranging
in 1998. At UMASS he studied under and worked closely with Yusef Lateef.
From 1994-1996, he was a composer, arranger, and singer for the UMASS
Vocal Jazz Choir, and from 1996-1997 he directed the Boston Latin Academy
Choir. In Los Angeles he studied film scoring with Bob Drasnin, the former
CBS music director, at UCLA in 1999, and has been writing music for film
and TV industry.
